We also polish all edges to ensure safety and prevent accidents, making our artwork not only beautiful but also practical for display in any environment. This type of glass is ideal for showcasing the precision of our sandblasting techniques, delivering a sleek and polished final product.

The time it takes to complete a sandblasted glass piece depends on the complexity and detail of the design. For more intricate and detailed layouts, the process can take up to 3-4 weeks. Simpler designs may be completed more quickly, but we always prioritize precision and quality to ensure each piece meets our high standards.

At Icons by Holder, our artwork ranges in size based on the design and detail. The smallest standard size we create is 17×17 inches, while larger projects can go up to life-size images, depending on the design requirements. While logos and simpler designs can be produced on smaller glass pieces, more detailed work, such as portraits or architectural elements, requires a larger canvas. For intricate images, the smallest size we offer is 24×36 inches to ensure clarity and precision in the final product.

While we specialize in creating custom glass artwork for homes and offices, we do not service vehicles. This is because vehicle glass is typically tempered, with a thickness ranging from 3 mm to 5 mm (0.12 to 0.20 inches), and our deep-carve sandblasting technique could shatter it.

For residential and commercial projects, we use raw tempered glass. After undergoing a tempering process—where the glass is heated to around 620°C (1148°F) and then rapidly cooled—it becomes significantly stronger (about 4-5 times stronger than untreated glass). This ensures safety and durability, as tempered glass shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards if broken, making it ideal for interior designs in homes and offices.

At Icons by Holder, we prioritize building strong relationships and ensuring the safe delivery of every piece of artwork. We exclusively use Navis Pack and Ship, a trusted company known for its exceptional service in handling and shipping glass artwork. Each piece is carefully packaged in a custom, padded, secure box, ensuring maximum protection during transit. Additionally, all artwork is fully insured for added peace of mind. We ship via FedEx Express, offering next-day delivery services upon request to meet your needs.

Shipping costs cannot be calculated at the time of artwork pricing. Once the artwork is completed and framed, we will weigh the piece and factor in your shipping address, the delivery time you prefer, and the available shipping options. Only then can we provide an accurate shipping cost based on these variables.

Our process begins with the image provided by the client or, in some cases, a concept that we create based on the client’s vision. Greg starts by hand-cutting the design using a stencil blade, ensuring precision and attention to detail. Once the stencil is prepared, we take the piece to our workshop, where it undergoes sandblasting in a secure sandblasting booth. For safety, Greg wears a protective hazmat suit during this process. We use aluminum oxide sand, which contains silicon, to achieve the desired depth and detail in the final artwork. This meticulous process ensures that each piece is crafted with care and expertise.

Each art piece is unique in its finishing process. If a client prefers the artwork to remain uncolored, we can certainly accommodate that request. Conversely, if the client wishes for the piece to be colored, our team will create a one-of-a-kind color palette tailored to match the colors of the provided image. This flexibility allows us to customize each piece to meet the client’s specific vision and preferences.

Unfortunately, due to our diverse clientele worldwide and for liability and licensing reasons, we do not offer hanging or installation services for artwork or partitions. However, for local and long-distance home or commercial installations, we are happy to coordinate with your preferred contractor. This collaboration ensures that the dimensions are accurately established and the artwork is delivered after the glass has been tempered to meet commercial requirements.

The Gio’Lani Glass Collection is a special line named after Gregory’s two children, Giovanni and Milani, and focuses on creating smaller, memorable pieces. These pieces typically range in size from 17×17 inches to 20×20 inches and are designed to capture intimate, personal moments. In contrast, Icons by Holder caters to larger-scale and life-size artwork, offering more expansive and detailed designs suited for significant spaces or statement pieces. Both lines are crafted with the same level of care and artistry, but serve different artistic and functional purposes.

Yes, we create custom awards for charities, golf tournaments, and special occasions. Each award is hand-cut and deeply carved on 1/2-inch thick glass. We offer two types of awards: one that sits on a glass base without paint, and another framed with LED lighting. Our framed glass awards start at a size of 15×15 inches, providing a striking and elegant way to commemorate special achievements.

Yes, we design custom logos and original artwork for our clients. Each design is completely one-of-a-kind and never repeated, ensuring a unique creation for every client. The only exception to this rule is for awards, which may follow a repeated format based on the occasion or event.

Yes, each piece we create comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring that your artwork is an original, handcrafted creation by Icons by Holder. This certification is a testament to the unique quality and craftsmanship of our work. Having a Certificate of Authenticity not only guarantees the provenance and originality of your piece but can also enhance its value over time. This document will serve as proof of authenticity, making it a valuable asset in the future and a cherished keepsake for years to come.

Yes, we offer a drop-off option for locations in Southern California. Each art piece is carefully packaged according to our secure packaging policy to ensure that the glass is fully protected during transport. However, please note that there is a white glove drop-off charge for this service. This option is available only for Southern California locations.
